We invite all members of the physiological community to contribute to the success of this Congress through your attendance and participation.  In addition, we hope that all physiologists will make a financial contribution to the Congress in order to provide assistance to emerging physiologists from the US and abroad and to encourage the participation of physiologists from all parts of the world.  We would like to raise upwards of $200,000 to underwrite the participation of US and foreign physiologists, especially those from developing countries.

The IUPS Congress will attract many graduate students and postdoctoral fellows seeking knowledge of the latest research findings.  Many of these physiologists do not have adequate funds for foreign travel to the USA and need to be supported with partial travel fellowships in order to attend and present their data and learn about yours.  To make their participation possible, we ask for your financial assistance to make it an exciting and dynamic Congress.

Please take an active role in ensuring the success of the first IUPS Congress to be hosted by the United States since 1968.  Take a few moments now to complete the donation card and return it with your check or credit card information.  All contributions in support of the Congress are fully tax-deductible.  Contributors will be acknowledged and recognized in materials distributed in conjunction with the Congress.  Individuals committing $500 or more will be invited to a special event held in conjunction with the Congress.  Regardless of the amount that you contribute, your participation will make a big difference as we launch our corporate sponsorship campaign.

We would like to re-iterate that the primary use of your contribution will be to bring young scientists, both from the US and foreign countries, to the Congress, so that they will have an opportunity to learn the state-of-the-art developments in physiological sciences and to meet established and other young scientists from across the world.  Since these young scientists will become the next generation of leaders, your contribution will have important impact on the future of physiology.

Thank you in advance for your support of the 35th International Congress of Physiological Sciences scheduled for March 31 April 5, 2005 in San Diego.
